Thought of the Day
Trust Gets More Expensive
In a world flooded with synthetic credibility, earned trust stops being a soft virtue and becomes a hard economic asset.
Trust is getting more expensive.
Not because people suddenly became cynical.
Because the cost of faking coherence just collapsed.
You can now generate polished language, competent design, synthetic warmth, and persuasive structure on demand. That means the surface area of credibility is expanding at exactly the same moment credibility itself is getting harder to verify.
That changes the economics.
In a world like that, trust is no longer built by looking sharp. It is built by being consistent. By being reachable. By saying true things before they are popular. By showing enough real judgment that people can feel there is an actual nervous system behind the work.
A lot of businesses are about to learn the hard way that manufactured polish is cheap, but earned trust is not.
And the ones that understand this early will stop optimizing only for output.
They will optimize for believability.
That is where the premium is moving.
