But most people are terrified of the space.

They see an empty hour on their calendar, or a cleared afternoon, and their nervous system treats it like a failure. They mistake "not producing" for "not working." So they immediately fill that reclaimed attention with more low-stakes output—more Slack messages, more research for the sake of feeling busy, more polished fog.

They are using a Ferrari to pick up groceries three blocks away.

The real win of the AI era isn't the efficiency. It’s the discipline to keep the calendar empty.

Leverage isn't just doing things faster. It's having the space to do things that don’t have an immediate "finish" button. Thinking about second-order consequences. Reading the market signal that doesn’t fit the summary. Building a relationship that requires real presence and zero automation.

If you save four hours a week with AI and you don't spend at least two of them being "unproductive" enough to actually think, you aren't more leveraged. You're just more optimized for the treadmill.

The premium is moving toward the people who can sit with the silence and use it to find the signal everybody else is too busy to hear.
